Pros

  • It allows you to queue multiple websites.
  • It lets you preview the images before downloading them.
  • The program helps you batch rename the output files

Cons

  • The program will not allow you to determine the format of the downloaded images

Downloading a large number of pictures from the Internet can be a tedious task, especially if you don’t have the right tool to help you out. Bulk Image Downloader is an efficient solution for this kind of situations.

As you probably guessed from its name, Bulk Image Downloader is an application that enables you to download numerous pictures from websites. This program scans the URL you specify, identifies all the images, and then allows you to batch copy the ones that you need.

A handy advantage is that Bulk Image Downloader lets you preview all the pictures that it finds, thus allowing you to choose only the ones that you need. Moreover, you can avoid downloading useless banners and logos by selecting the type of pictures that you want to consider.

I especially like that with Bulk Image Downloader you can queue multiple web-pages and have the application download the images from them while you work on something else. Furthermore, another useful feature is the ability of the program to batch rename the pictures that you download.

Ultimately, my opinion is that Bulk Image Downloader is an efficient application, which is worth its price. It may not allow you to choose the format of the output images, but this program can help you save a lot of time so it’s worth checking out.

Robert Pacl I have really tried for 2 weeks to understand the quirks in this app. There are some sites where it works very well. There are other sites, too many, where the operation is very flakey, or abortive. I have repeatedly been told that it downloaded xx files and go to the folder to find almost anything - thumbnails, banners, all kinds of garbage in addition to, usually but not always, .jpegs that I selected. I just finished a round where I got none that I selected even though the pix were listed as downloaded. I have Win 7, 64-bit, just reinstalled in an attempt to get some of my other flakey apps to settle down, but either BID is incompatible or it's a beta version. I'm thinking of making XP a 2nd OS so I can use Reget Pro which has been a trusted app for years, but not with MS new carp OS, like many other apps which I have depended on for a long time. Collomb updated "Unlocker" to help me defend against those Redmond morons.
